GINOP-5.3.4-2016-2017-00029

Occupational Safety and Health Grant

Following the amendments to Act XCIII of 1993 on Occupational Safety, which entered into force on 8 July 2016, it became necessary to update the sector-specific occupational safety and health (OSH) materials. The amendments also introduced a mandatory requirement for companies employing more than 20 employees to elect an occupational safety representative.

In response, our Association, in consortium with the Confederation of Hungarian Employers and Industrialists (MGYOSZ) and the Hospitality and Tourism Trade Union (VISZ), successfully implemented the project entitled "Improving Occupational Safety and Health in the Accommodation and Food Service Sector" during 2017–2018. The project enabled businesses in the sector to adapt to the new requirements free of charge.

Through the project, we developed updated guidance materials and practical tools tailored to the specific needs of the tourism and hospitality sector, including templates, posters, and instructional videos for both employers and employees. In addition, we delivered training courses for occupational safety representatives and organised information events across the country. The project was underpinned by a comprehensive sector-wide survey on occupational safety and health.

The resulting materials are intended primarily for managers of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), while also serving occupational safety professionals and managers in larger companies as practical resources for their daily work.

All project outputs and supporting materials are available on the project's website.
