The Hungarian Hospitality Employers’ Association is the “voice” of tourism and catering business

Our Mission

The Hungarian Hospitality Employers’ Association (VIMOSZ) is the „voice” of tourism and catering business representing the interests of employers towards decision makers and employees. Its main goal is to create a sustainable and „tourism friendly” macro environment and to improve the competitiveness of the sector. The association has nearly 50 members including subsector representatives like Hungarian Hotel and Restaurant Association (MSZÉSZ), Federation of Hungarian Event Organisers and Suppliers (MARESZ), Association of Hungarian Travel Agencies (MUISZ) or Association of Hungarian Rural and Agrotourism (FATOSZ). Through these organizations the VIMOSZ membership counts around 1500 tourism companies. VIMOSZ covers the following fields of the sector: hospitality, commercial catering contract catering, tour operators and travel agents. education. The employers of direct members employ around 28 000 employees, together with indirect members, this number is about 80 000. VIMOSZ is the signatory of the Sectoral Collective Agreement and gives the employers’ side of the Sectoral Social Dialogue aiming to sustain labour peace and good relationship between partners. Based on this, the Association is member of the two European Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee (HOTREC-EFFAT and FoodServiceEurope-EFFAT). This provides VIMOSZ with the possibility to represent the sector’s interest through international organizations and bodies as well. The President of VIMOSZ is Pál Zoltán GAL since 2013. According to the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH) account, the tourism sector generates 6,3% of Hungarian GDP which is 9,3% including indirect impacts. The sector provides jobs for 422 000 employees, which means 9,1% of total jobs. If we add indirect impacts, this share grows to 12,4% regarding the national labour market. The ambitious goal of the National Tourism Development Strategy by 2030 is to raise the contribution of the sector to GDP to 16% and the number of registered employees to 450 000 in tourism and related sectors.
